Cory Brown plays rhythm guitar,
sings leads and writes lyrics and music for 7th direction.
A So-Cal native Cory helped form the group soon after moving
to the Bay Area. Cory's passion for music began at an early
age, spurred by his father's success with the band Morning,
and is evident throughout the musical stylings of 7th Direction. |

Phil McGee provides the blistering lead
guitar licks in the 7th Direction sound. A veteran of the
Santa Cruz music scene now based in the East Bay, Phil has
shared stages with national acts such as George Porter of
the Meters, the Radiators, the Texas Tornadoes, Merl Saunders
and Little Feat; Phil has performed with Zero, Steve Kimock,
and Freddy Roulette to name a few. Phil brings a bluesy, improvisational
edge to the sound. |

Singer, songwriter, keyboardist Mike Goodin
has been performing on stages throughout the West Coast for
more than 10 years. He has extensive recording and stage performance
experience. Most recently he founded, wrote music, and produced
two CD’s for critically acclaimed No. Ca. jam-band Grasshoppers.
His distinctive songwriting, voice and keyboard work bring
a fresh sound to 7th Direction. |

Assaf Jaffe plays bass and writes lyrics
and music for 7th Direction. The Israeli songwriter worked
with several small bay area projects before helping form 7th
Direction in 2000. A student of poetry, native american culture
and american folk history, Assaf's passion for storytelling
and myth is evident in the lyrics he pens for the band. |

Phil Hodges has been playing drums for
over 20 years. He toured nationally and recorded with Taos
Hum in the late 90’s. In addition to drumming for
7th Direction, Phil is also an accomplished session drummer,
sought after drum teacher and operator of White Giraffe Productions,
a musician’s services and production company (www.whitegiraffe.net).
Phil’s precise timing and powerful drumming provide a solid
backbone for 7th Direction’s music. |

the Verge: Artists You Should Know About
RELIX magazine Aug/Sept 2003

"The band’s debut album (Hundred Miles Gone) is
sheer delight that covers everything from laid-back country soul
to blistering rock and roll. The band has good songs and they embellish
them with meticulous playing.
- Mick Skidmore, Relix Magazine,
“Artists You Should Know About” (9/03)
"Besides being the best album by a Bay Area band
I’ve heard in 2003, it’s the best album period!"
-Dennis Cook, Jambase. Com, (10/03)
"Nothing has gotten me out of bed in 2003 like Hundred
Miles Gone. It lifts one’s heels lightly and steals power from lingering
shadows… What separates their brand of sunshine is the equal share
they give to the dark things."
-Pause Record/Magazine (5/03)
